Toodles Winter, Toodles

Even thought I totally totally TOTALLY hate winter this year......even I can admit it. Sometimes it's kinda cute and even cool looking.

Like here: cute.

Or here: cool looking.

So sometimes, even the biggest winter scrooges of all can admit it. Winter can be cute and even kinda cool looking.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a MINUTE!!!!

It might not actually be winter providing all the cuteness and cool lookin-ness!!!!

By golly, it's not! It's my children and Goldendoodle doing all the work on that one.

Sorry Winter, it's back to the dog house for you!

As for the rest of you...

.....come back for more really cool photos from this day.

...coming soon to a blog near you. like this one. to be exact.

And as Mickey would say on Leighton's Mickey Mouse Club House.....Tooooddles. (ok, he would say, "oh, toodles" but just plain toodles sounded better to me. Let's try it again and see.

Toodles!

Yep, I like it.

Snow Diamonds

I really despise winter this year. Most years I just despise the bitter cold and icy roads part. Not the totality of winter. Like, there are usually some bright spots. And the snow can be fun if you let it.

This year though, I'm not gonna let it. Nope, not me. Me and winter are at odds.

Running around throwing snowballs and frolicking may look cute in a magazine article or something. But not in my yard. Not this year.

This year is different. This year my winter is characterized by achy joints and sore muscles and a big ole still swollen toe. Bleck!

I'm pretty sure though that after winter, it's all gonna go away. Just as fast as it came.

And then the winter of 2010 will forever be repressed in my memory. Only the bad parts that is. Like, the cute parts where my children are involved I will totally remember. But to the rest I will say Sianaira memories!

That being said. And as much as I hate it. I guess it is kinda pretty sometimes.
Snow diamonds are fairly cool. So I gave it two pictures.

Two pictures, Winter! Did you hear me? That's it, that's all your gettin from me! Now quit sending cold fronts that whack out my joints and get on the road so we can welcome the much
more welcomed season.

Happy Feet

We are having a storm day here up in our "joy of a place to live". And it's mid-march. And there is a huge jumbo-tron size flashing sign near our local mall that keeps reminding us there are only 12 days of spring. Right, right people. Who do those sign posters think they are? We all know that you can call it what you want. Call it spring, call it fresh flowers blooming, call it birds chirping. Really, call it what you want. But it will still just be winter for us. Our storm season is here and has been known to come and go for another month and a half. So, post your signs and get excited. But we all know what really happens up here. I'm not trying to sound pessimistic. I swear I'm not. I love being happy and positive all the time. But.....it's about 1 degree, -25 with windchill, 40 mile an hour winds, and the storm is expected to dump about 8 inches of snow.

Let me tell you though, there is some happy in this message. Happy because I get to spend the day stranded with my little boy, my hubby and my highly energetic dog. Happy because I used Space Bags for the first time today and they were awesome! Happy because I browned a jumbo thing of hamburger and now have 3 meals worth of it in the freezer just waiting for the perfect day and perfect meal. Happy because we get to play and get things done. So, we are really making the best of it. And this is just one of the many ways that Leighton makes the best of it.Don't you love those feet? I sure do.

My Sanity

The other day, I posted this about my complete HATE for winter this year. OK, OK I do have to admit- there are a few bright spots in my winter this year. They are:

This guy.
Those guys.
These guys.

This guy.
And, for sure, that guy.

Frosty the Snowman

I hate winter. It's just plain stupid if you ask me. Why I have chosen to live in this frozen tundra year after year, for all the 27 years of my life completely floors me. It's just a dumb idea. Every year, it gets even dumber.

Now, those of you who know me, know this is not my usual attitude. Normally, I am Miss Eternal Optimist. On any other year I would be saying things like, "oh...well, even though it's 40 below zero and we have 8000 feet of snow, it's still very beautiful outside...look how the snow glistens in the sunlight....look how the snowflakes fall on your cheek........look at all those adorable children building snowmen and then drinking hot chocolate.....oh, there are just so many wonderful things about winter. And then....there was this year.

Enter: Miss Pregnancy-Induced Bad Attitude. She decided to join me this winter. So, instead, I would like to say things like: screw Frosty the Snowman and all his idiotic freezing body parts. In fact, maybe this year, I will add a nice set of wintry balls so I can kick him square in his frosty chestnuts.

Now, do you want to know how I'm surviving all this winter mayhem? I have pictures to show you. Sadly, this website freezes when I try to add my photos. So, I'm going back outside to kick Frosty in his nuts again, just because I can. And then I will add the pictures another time. Goodnight!
