Movin' On...for now

Well, I am just plain sick of floods and blizzards and press conferences. It looks like the river is going down, down, down and this is good, good, good. As of this afternoon it's down to some 37 odd feet. The mayor announced that people can get back to work tomorrow. However, the current kick in the balls blizzard we are having which is producing about 12 new inches in snow may well cause another crest in about 2 weeks or so. National Weather Service won't firm up a number but I have heard between 38-41 feet AGAIN!! So, we may have to do this all over again. Which begs the question.... why do we still live here!? how will we get through this?

But, as the blizzard winds down, I'm ready to move on. I'm ready to get back to normal. I'm ready to drive around town without feeling like a criminal. I'm ready to take Leighton out for a wagon ride again. And I REALLY need to get a birthday present for a special little someone turning 5 tomorrow! I'm also ready to stop posting flood pictures and get back to some real blogging fun! So, fun we will have!

Here are some recent pictures of Leighton and his Unco De-de (jason) having fun. Jason was here the weekend before the water started rising and ended up going back home to the other side of the state to his own flooding (overland) and blizzards. But, enough about that non-sense. Aren't they just dang cute?

I'm SOOOOO with you on this. I'm ready to move back HOME...even though ALL of home is on one level. Even though I'm sure we'll be posting water pics in another two weeks...

Oh Lindsay! I shouldn't even complain, being you guys have had to evacuate! Are you going to be able to get back soon? I hope you are managing everything ok, especially with the pregnancy. I'll be praying for you, the newest nuggey and your family!
