I hate winter. It's just plain stupid if you ask me. Why I have chosen to live in this frozen tundra year after year, for all the 27 years of my life completely floors me. It's just a dumb idea. Every year, it gets even dumber.
Now, those of you who know me, know this is not my usual attitude. Normally, I am Miss Eternal Optimist. On any other year I would be saying things like, "oh...well, even though it's 40 below zero and we have 8000 feet of snow, it's still very beautiful outside...look how the snow glistens in the sunlight....look how the snowflakes fall on your cheek........look at all those adorable children building snowmen and then drinking hot chocolate.....oh, there are just so many wonderful things about winter. And then....there was this year.
Enter: Miss Pregnancy-Induced Bad Attitude. She decided to join me this winter. So, instead, I would like to say things like: screw Frosty the Snowman and all his idiotic freezing body parts. In fact, maybe this year, I will add a nice set of wintry balls so I can kick him square in his frosty chestnuts.
Now, do you want to know how I'm surviving all this winter mayhem? I have pictures to show you. Sadly, this website freezes when I try to add my photos. So, I'm going back outside to kick Frosty in his nuts again, just because I can. And then I will add the pictures another time. Goodnight!

Physical exercise is a great stress reliever. Maybe you could make a whole snow family and then you'd feel better?? Worth a shot anyways...Hope you feel better soon!
Shannon, this made me laugh out loud, Misty, you are awesome...it's things like this that just make my day a little "warmer"!
Okay...I don't make a habit of commenting on your (or any blog for that matter) but I thought I should give my two cents as your oldest brother. I can think of a quote that I remember coming across in my classroom once. I had to google it to get it right but it's a good one: "In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." ~Albert Camus
and in your case also a baby - in you that is :)
Also, chestnuts don't seem appropriate considering he is a Stevenson, I was thinking coconuts. Of couse he does have some of Derrick in him so chestnuts are fine. Nevermind, disregard this comment!
Your snowman that is.
Misty-yes, i think physical exercise is certainly a stress reliever! too bad, i haven't taken part in that stress reliever since i was 9 months pregnant with leighton!!! ahhhh.
valerie-i'm glad i could warm up your day.
now-aaron, my dear brother. thanks for the great quote-it gave me shivers..haaaa. and just so you know the snowman IS NOT related to derrick or i would need something much bigger than coconuts!!!
Just be careful that you don't hurt your foot on those frosty chestnuts -
Linda (Winter)
How would you like to have my last name this year - people actually growl at you when you say it.
