My Inspiration

My radio is usually tuned into our local Christan radio station. I love the positive and encouraging messages throughout the day. Every so often, I hear a message from the Proverbs 31 Ministries. And I always love the messages. They are for women and about women. I have often thought, OK, I'm going to go on that website and read up on who the Proverbs 31 woman is. Well, better than that, I decided to go straight to the bible and read up on this woman. I have often had the thought that it was going to be all about being a Stay at Home Mom. And this is a great thought! But, sometimes, it is a painful one for me. If you have read my earlier blog post
here, you will know what I mean. In a nutshell, the post is about my new career goal to be a stay at home mom. However, it's not totally an option right now. So, there it comes....the guilt.

But, then I read Proverbs 31. I took a closer look. The Proverbs 31 woman is so many women. She is wonderful mother and wife. She prepares food and fine clothing. She takes care of her household. She strengthens her husband and brings him good. She is an advocate for the lesser of those. She is a hard worker. She works in the field. She is strong for this work. She goes to the market and sells her products. She makes money. She doesn't fear the cold of winter for her children because she provides coverings for them. She, herself, is clothed in strength and dignity. She laughs. She gives wise instruction. She fears the Lord. And my very favorite of all- her children rise up and called her Blessed.

I can't tell you how moved and encouraged I was to read about this Proverbs 31 woman. God met me at the point of my need in those verses. If you are a mom out there who is struggling with being a working mom and balancing your role as a mother, please read Proverbs 31. Allow God to speak to you in your unique situation. Trust me, when you call on him- he always shows up. God Bless, ladies!
